Data School

This course teaches the process of extracting information from data. Students will learn data analysis techniques and also how to accurately characterize data using models to make inferences and decisions. It involves applying mathematics and analytical thinking to solve practical problems.

The course involves data mining, descriptive and predictive analysis, statistical analysis, business analytics and big data analytics

In this course, you will learn

Data Analysis in Python

Python is a programming language that is used for general purposes. It is used in web development, data science and creating software prototypes. because of its versatility, python is a common programming language in data science, it is used along with Java, Perl, or C/C++.

Unix is an operating system which is multi-user, multi-tasking system for servers, desktops and laptops, while Git is a version control system (VCS) that makes it possible to track changes to files.

R Programming

R Programming can solve any problems encountered in the world of data science and it is a great resource for aspiring data scientists.

Technical Skills

Computer Science skills are essential for data science, just as knowing an instrument is for an artisan.

Hadoop Platform

knowledge of cloud tools like Amazon S3 is taught in our data school. Hadoop is useful when the volume of data exceeds the memory of a system and Data has to be sent to different servers. Hadoop is also used for data exploration, data filtration, data sampling, and summarization.

Apache Spark

Apache Spark is similar to Hadoop, the difference is that it is faster.

SQL Database/Coding

SQL (structured query language) is a programming language that aids data scientists in adding, deleting, and extracting data from databases. It also helps carry out analytical functions and transform database structures

Machine Learning and AI

This is a skill exceptional data scientists must know, it includes techniques like supervised machine learning, decision trees, logistic regression, etc.

Most Data scientists have degrees in computer science, mathematics, and statistics. But at Code School Africa, you could get the same value for these degrees. The skills you learn in our data school are R Programming, Technical Skills, Hadoop Platform, Apache Spark, SQL Database/Coding.
